PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: The Garden Club’s annual Book Fair & Food Drive program on November 17 was a great success. We had a great turnout with 40 people attending our event. Bookshop West Portal presented a splendid collection of new books that are available this holiday season at their store. It was a great opportunity to hear book reviews and get a sense of what might be a good read or to find gifts for the holidays. Our thanks to Susan, Lillian and Vivian, for their presentation and wonderful selection of books they brought to the Clubhouse for us. Thank you to Teresa Callan who arranged for the book show, worked on setting up books, and taking down the event. Thank you to Eva Monroe for leading the fundraiser for the SF-Marin Food Bank. Exactly $4,000 raised with the one-to-one matching pledge. Thanks to the generous Thanksgiving match offer from BlackRock and D. Sanders, your gifts were DOUBLED to the total of $8,000 to provide food toward holiday meals for families in need. Every $1 donated provides 2 meals. Our big THANK YOU to all the donors! Thank you also to Mike Monroe, and Stan Puck, Claudia Belshaw, and Teresa Callan, for doing heavy lifting of chairs and tables. Thank you to Eva Monroe and Anna Bolechowski for setting the tables with linens and lovely arrangements. Thank you to our marvelous refreshment team: Ingeborg McGlynn, Anne De Bruyn Kops husband Peter, Claudia Belshaw, Debbie Gaspari, Eva Monroe, Barbara Brenner, Donna De Santis-Buoymaster, Laura Outsen, Ann Rieger-Matthews and Yen Bachmeier.
