BULLETIN

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

On October 20th, the Garden Club members enjoyed a fantastic preview of Manet & Morisot exhibit. Carol Porter, a docent from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, part of the Art Talks program, spoke about the Manet & Morisot exhibit currently showing at the Palace Legion of Honor. We learned how both artists influenced each other’s work, over the course of their friendship and how Berthe Morisot rised to the level of the only accomplished woman who exhibited her art in her own name. Thanks to Yen Bachmeier for organizing this event. We had a full house of over 50 people who attended.

Many thanks to the ladies who provided for a beautiful tea after our presentation: Amy Quirk, Love Joy assorted tea sandwiches, Claudia Belshaw for fruits, Donna De Santis Buoymaster for a charcuterie board, coffee cake from Ingeborg McGlynn, Julia Stroud’s special cake, Linda Simonin brought chocolate chip cookies, Debbie Gaspari a lovely cake, Eva Monroe for the nuts and chocolates. Yen Bachmeier brought cucumber sandwiches and cupcakes. Altogether, you had created a beautiful, sumptuous and delightful tea.

Thanks to Nancy Hagosian and Anna Bolechowski, for your lovely fall flower arrangements. Thank you ALL for your hard work.

We hope to see everyone at our Book Fair on November 17, at 1:00pm, hosted by Teresa Callan. Bookshop West Portal will be bringing books to sell at the event. It’s a great opportunity to hear about the latest good reads and find lovely reading gifts for the holidays! Thanksgiving is that time of the year to be thankful and generous toward those who are less fortunate. Eva Monroe will be collecting funds for the Food Bank. Please make your donation payable to: The SF-Marin Food Bank. Donations will be matched one-to-one, so you will double your money.

Happy Thanksgiving and we look forward to seeing you all in November!

With gratitude,
Ann Rieger-Matthews & Claudia Belshaw
