PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE:

Spring Fling has come and gone, much to our dismay…but it was a huge success! Our event Co-Chairs - Eva Monroe and Kathleen Fong would like to thank their committee for ensuring that every detail was covered with patience and hard work. Beautiful parties are a work of love! A big Thank You to the entire Fong Family (Kathleen (cook extraordinaire), Doug, Melanie, Alea and Cordelia our "neighborhood songbirds"), Eva (organizer/decor maven) and Mike Monroe, Pansy and Rich Waller, Anna Bolechowski, Saundra McCormick, Kathe Farrell, Suzie Curtiss, John Balestreri and Dena Aslanian-Williams. To those who stayed after the party to help clean up - your help and goodwill was much appreciated. Special thanks to our professional musicians, Karsten Windt and Laura Magnani for their musical magic. ’Twas all an evening to remember.

A big thank you goes to our co-chairs – Anna Bolechowski and Donna Earhart for organizing the Oscar de la Renta event. The FAMSF docent Carmen Mahood provided an informative presentation using Power-Point to describe the Oscar de la Renta’s “haute couture and red–carpet looks” and of the clients who wore his designs. The exhibit is currently at the De Young until May 30. After the presentation the FHGC members and guests enjoyed the delicious sweets and tea sandwiches prepared by Ingeborg McGlynn , Donna Earhart, Clorinda Aldrich, Louise Bacigalupi, Saundra McCormick and Tony Buckley. Many thanks go to Eva Monroe for sharing the lovely display of Oscar De La Renta items – scarves, slippers, boxes and books, etc. A big thank you goes to Nancy Hagosian and Anna Bolechowski for the fabulous floral arrangements which were placed in Anna’s lovely vases displayed throughout the clubhouse.

Parliamentarian Louise Bacigalupi reported that the nominating committee had met and provided its recommendations of the slate of officers and directors for the 2016–2017 Garden Club term. At the meeting the members approved the new slate of officers. They are are as follows:

Monday, April 18	General Meeting - City Hall Tour
	Instead of going to the Clubhouse we go directly to SF City Hall The tour of City Hall will be conducted by Ellen Schumer, Commission Chair, City and County of San Francisco City Hall Preservation Advisory Commission. Please go directly to the 1st floor (Polk Side) at City Hall at 12:45 PM. The tour will start promptly at 1:00PM and will take about an hour to complete.
