PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE: The Forest Hill Garden Club food Drive of ‘Cash not Cans’ was a huge success this year! We asked for donations of checks made payable to the San Francisco Food Bank and the response was overwhelming. Thank you members for your generosity in lending a hand to feed families this holiday season! Special thanks go to Toni Buckley for collecting the checks. The annual Book-Fest was also a great success. More than forty members came to hear Neal Sofman, owner of Bookshop West Portal. Additionally, the members enjoyed listening to Kirke Mechem speak about his book “Believe Your Ears, Life of a Lyric Composer”. Members who purchased books that day received a 20% discount. Most special thanks go to Yen Bachmeier for chairing the Book-Fest event. Much appreciation goes to Ingeborg McGlynn for baking the dazzling sweets and Sima Talai for the delectable baklavas, which the members enjoyed immensely! The holiday season is fast approaching and we have a busy and exciting December ahead of us. Don’t forget to ring in the holiday season with the Forest Hill Garden Club at our Annual Holiday Dinner Dance ‘Silver Bells’. We’re selling out fast so get your checks in ASAP!
