Forest Hill Garden Club
PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE: We opened the month of October with a culturally rich and insightful program on “Houghton Hall: Portrait of an English Country House”, presented by Ellen Harden, docent of the FAMSF, followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea. We received many lavish and appreciative comments from the members. The event was planned by Anna Bolechowski and expertly implemented by members of her team Clorinda Aldrich, Yen Bachmeier, Louise Bacigalupi, Katie Balestreri, Suzie Curtiss, Donna Haynes and Helen Scholten who brought their personal decorative items from home for the mini exhibit at the club house or prepared tea sandwiches or cookies. Many thanks go to Nancy Hagosian for the floral arrangements. We had planned to end the month with an Oktoberfest fall party; however, the fall party committee members recommended the party be postponed due to conflicts of attendance expressed by some members who planned to watch the SF Giants win the World Series! This year our annual Holiday Dinner Dance ‘Holiday Lights’ is on Monday December 8th. I invite you to kick off the holiday season with the Garden Club and come with your guests to eat, drink, be merry and dance through the night with live music in our beautiful club house! Black tie preferred. The cost is only $95 per person for FHGC members; $100 for non members. A bargain! I encourage you to sign up now as space is limited. See attached flyer for more details. — Pansy Waller
