PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Our annual September luncheon on the 19th welcomed back many happy, familiar faces as well as new ones. I would like to express my appreciation to the two co-chairs Eva Monroe and Mary Hanson for expertly orchestrating and running the whole event. Also thanks to many helping hands in the committee, Teresa Callan, Kathe Farrell, Maria-Elena Hanley and Ann Rieger-Matthews, who made all the work flow effortlessly. We give praise to our chef of the day, Eva Monroe, for the delicious chicken salad. Many thanks go to Anna Bolechowski and Nancy Hagosian for the floral arrangements. They were beautifully assembled with fuchsia, iris and gladiolus in lovely lavender and pink. A collection of photos was put together. I invite you to view it. I am grateful to Kathleen Anderson for manning the reception table with the name badges and butterfly stickers. It was fun to count and compare to see who has the most butterflies. A special thank goes to Darlene Hartman for bringing back the plant cart and for reminding us that now is the time to plant your bulb garden for Spring. Thanks to Helen Scholten and Louise Bacigalupi for having some history books on display. They sure called forth pleasurable nostalgic emotions. October is filled with exciting activities.
